"wget" errors

I am receiving "/usr/bin/wget: Permission denied" error. What should I do?

We had to disable the "wget" command on all shared servers due to recent script abuses. 3rd parties tried to gain access to the system or tried to run IRC related tools by using script exploits, so by disabling the wget command all those exploit attempts will fail. Additionally all those attempts have been logged and the IPs got banned from the network.

Solution:

Please use FTP instead
